3 red lights on my Xbox 360, bottom right quadrant is the only one normal. Help?
Posted on January 5th, 2010 6 commentsfenton.hewitt asked:
Just got my Xbox 360 back from Microsoft as it had a hardware failure and needed repairing. About an hour into playing on it, and the 3 red lights returned. When stood up, the upper right quadrant is the only one not flashing, but when i tilt the Xbox slightly, that quadrant begins flashing, and the bottom right quadrant stops flashing. Very confusing, but anyone got any ideas on what’s going on with it?

Get a new 360 then, the old 360′s suck so badly if you know what i mean…. Id rather get a ps3 then a crappy old 360 whereas you have to keep fixing it like 50 times a goddamn year.

just make sure that all of the cords are plugged in all the way and if still doesnt work then just call Microsoft again, good luck

Because Microsoft is trying to repair broken 360s – not replace them – many people have gotten back 360s from Microsoft that were still broken.
To understand why this is happening, you need to understand the original problems with the 360. The heatsinks weren’t attached properly, causing the processors to overheat. As a safety measure, the processors can shutdown the console when the heat gets too high. This can prevent the processor from being permanently damaged by the heat…but it isn’t always successful. Even if a processor appears to be OK in testing after overheating, it may still fail later – which is what you’re seeing now.
Your 360 is still under warranty by Microsoft. You can call them to get it repaired. Again. There’s not much else you can do other than cross your fingers and hope the next 360 you get back will work, or just buy an all new one.

This happened to me. After trying to make it work forever i just decided to call Microsoft and they told me to send in the 360 and they will fix it. it takes like a month or so, but better than buying a new one

all u have to do is call xbox and ask them for a new xbox. if you got the extended warrenty they will give u a brand new one.

wow, i’m going with poohbear on this one, just remember, tell them you are mad that it only worked for an hour, get them to send another repair box, again tell them you are really mad, at that point they should start offering you items, free games, xbox live cards, etc… if they don’t offer these things, ask them if they are trying to rip you off, that your buddy got 2 free games when his 360 broke for the second time
