Ok so I bought a xbox 360 last week to play online games but I had to freaking buy a damn wifi accessory for $50 to play games. As soon as i plug it in and connect my router to it and all, it wont let me play my game online it keeps trying to sell me something live for 50 more bucks
I dont want to subscribe to anything i just want to play how do i get passed this? Also this morning my 360 turned on with 3 red lights and now only show’s a black screen on my TV. Im guessing it’s something to do with the Wi-Fi accessory, but im not sure. Should i return it for a ps3?

I heard the only way you can play online on your Xbox360 is buying a Xbox360 card (I think) and then you can play online for a year..

That is why i’m getting a PS3, Its all free

    • 3 red lights is a BAD sign..

to play xbox games online you need xbox live.. which is exspensive…

the 3 red lights indicated a hardware error… my guess is the wifi thing (it goes in a 360?) take it out and see if your 360 works again…

as for exchanging it for a ps3, I would say yes since the online play is free :P

    • Most Xbox consoles do the red light thing meaning a hardware failure. You should call microsoft about this they will fix it

    • Oh boy 3 red lights thats something you dont want for your 360 your ultimately screwed! Look it up 3 red rings of death!

    • Did you buy the console it new or secondhand?

The whole ‘three red lights’ thing is a VERY common trait with early models – the so called “ring of death”.

There isn’t really a cure. If it’s under warranty, good luck, otherwise, may be time for a PS3.

PS, apparently wrapped the console in a dry towel can revive it, a bit of a ‘quick fix’ if you will. However, it doesn’t solve the problem, and only makes it harder to fix.

    • return that shit ….cuz u got the ring of death

    • no do not get a ps3. the 3 red lights are the red ring of death. just use your warranty to get a replacement or get it fixed (whatever your warranty is for) also you have to have an xbox live account, that is the $50 thing. pretty obvious, it’s not subscription, it’s how you play online.

Well you can return it and
      1. Get a PS3,
      2. Get a new 360

or call 1-800 4 my xbox

      to get it fixed.

      (3 lights mean hardware failure)
