e74 error, but could i send my 360 in and say its a rrod problem and get a new one?

More than likely, they’re going to notice that it’s not the red rings of death, because that won’t fix itself and revert back to an e74 error.
You don’t want to try and pull one over on them, as they’ve probably seen this attempt before.

If you’ve had for less than 2 year you can send back with e74.
2 year for e74
3 year for RROD
