when i plug my harddrive in it resets and i get the E68 message , is this a hardware problem or just E68 problem with my harddrive, because i dont want to get a new harddrive to find that E74 comes back or is it just a warning my harddrive is broken? cheers, craig.>>Click Here to Download the Best Xbox 360 Repair Guide Now<<

You shouldn’t be so worried about doing all these little”tricks” to get your box to work. Microsoft extended the warranty to 3 years so bite the bullet and send it in to get fixed. If you are out of warranty then check with one of these sites below. they will definately be cheaper than having microsoft fix it and they offer warranty’s on their repairs. If you absolutley don’t have the money and have to do it yourself then go here…http://top3redlightfixes.com/XBOX360Repair/xbox_360_repair.php?gclid=CJHj9P7BxJQCFQOuFQod5BQPFQ

ps. what good is playing without a HDD if you can’t save anything that you have done. And you can’t play halo without the maps. (sob).lol -
Blow on the pins that connect the 360 to the Hard Drive (on both the 360 and Hard Drive). I could just be it can’t read it properly. Failing that, buy a new Hard Drive
OR
Unplug your 360 completely (so it’s cable-less), remove the Hard Drive if you want. Put it vertically on the floor (not carpet) and leave it for a day. Come back, set everything up and boot it again.
Even a simple reboot can fix it (turn off, leave for half hour, turn on again)
Failing that, buy a new Hard Drive or ring 1-800-4-MY-XBOX -

i know how to temporary fix it but it takes about 2 secodns and it lastes like a day. it doesnt hurt it at all eaitehr. turn it on and u get the e74 screen. hold the connect button on your xbox and press the button to open the tray. the lights will flash differantly. keep holding the connect button on the console and press the open button again and keep doing this till its back to the one flashing ligh and let it sit about 15 seconds on eatch flashing light it changes to. then turn off your xbox and turn it back on it works perfect
