Microsoft has fixed my xbox for many times and it still gets red ring of death!
It’s annoying! I really need a permanent fix!

    • Honestly? Throw out your console and look for a newer model.

It’s an issue with the chip inside of it that seems to want to overheat with the older models

    • Have you considered the X-clamp fix? This fix voids the warranty-but is pretty easy. Our x-box 360 got the red ring-it didn’t qualify for the Microsoft fix, so my fiance and I decided to fix it at home. 2 years later it’s still working great!

This is the fix in a nutshell: you open up the console, remove the x-clamps, clean up the old thermal paste, put new thermal paste on, replace the x-clamps, use new screws and washers, reassemble the unit and turn it on. You can find instructions online by googling RROD X-Clamp Fix or check out the link I provided below.
