How to fix Xbox 360 error code e74?

I have tried to do the “X Clamp” fix the 360 worked for about an hour then gave me the e74 error code. I then tried to clean off the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU and apply new paste then re-tighten the screws. This did not work. Does anyone have other suggestions that work?

wrap a towel over the xbox 360 and turn on, let it over heat for 5 minutes and it’ll work. Don’t believe me? go on youtube

DO NOT DO THE TOWEL TRICK!!!!!!! you will screw the box over so bad it will be a brick and microsoft will NOT do anything about it.
All I know is I got the E74 and my friend did the thermal paste method with it and it worked fine. Hasnte had a problem since. Try doing the thermal paste method again but with the screws tightened differently. Also you might have a b1tch box so after you re screw the CPU and GPU back in dont put the case back on (yet) and see if it works. I have had a box where I was trying to fix the RRoD and when I screwed the case back on it would break again for some reason. Try that see what it does.
