my Xbox 360 is turning 3 years old on Tuesday the 28th YAY. sadly that means that the 3 year warranty covering the 3 red lights issue is coming over. its starting freeze and not play games a lot, but its still a few months away from getting the 3 red lights. so i want to induce a system failure so i can file a repair with microsoft before the warranty is up. any suggestions?

wrap it in towels let it run for an hour or 2 then let it cool and repeat

Just tell them that you have three flashing red lights and they will take it back.
