I recently got the e74 error for the 360 about a month ago and got it back from repair and it worked fine. Now only a couple weeks after I have gotten it again. Is there something wrong with the cords I am using or what?

Im afraid its just the way the xbox 360 is built. Perhaps you are leaving it on over night?? Microsoft announced 15th April 2009 that they will repair consoles with the E74 error. The error is caused when there’s a video problem, because the Xbox 360′s hardware scaler chip is damaged. the E74 error is now covered by the three-year extended warranty, and customers who previously paid Microsoft for out-of-warranty service to correct the E74 error will receive a refund. Personally i would save your money and switch to a more reliable platform =P … no hinting x hopeihelped

unfortunately i will also tell you that microsoft does not fix consoles, the replace the consoles, or the parts causing the problems. by doing so, they have spent 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS on the errors they have had. i would recommend getting a ps3 cuz its as expensive as what you would spend on an elite now that the pro has been discontinued. sony can fix their hardware and you won’t have problems with it ever again lol. =)

After you get the RROD, it has a greater chance that you will get it again. Try and keep all the vents open on your xbox and keep it in an open, cool place. Or just get a PS3.
