Is there a permanent fix for the Xbox 360 e74 error (One blinking red light) other then sending it back to MS?

I know of the towel trick and how it is a temporary fix, but I would like to find a way to fix this for good without doing that. If anyone knows of a better way without going through Microsoft I would greatly appreciate it.

No because 1, and 3 lights are Hardware failure.
No one knows how to fix this except Microsoft, and they are not telling anyone how.
So you have to send it in to Microsoft.

I had the same problem with my xbox 360 and i fixed mine on my own and its been 3 weeks without a e74.. your going to have to void the warranty on the xbox 360 but if your not going to send it in to microsoft its probably not a big deal then.. send me an email and ill give you step by step directions if your intrested.

I gotten one before but it was e68 maybe try not to play in 3 days and then play it again and see what happens

1) Unplug 360 completely (so it is cable-less and free to move)
2) Place it vertically on a wood floor (or anything that isn’t carpet), so it can get air
3) Leave for a day
4) Set it up and try and playAlso try cleaning out the vents with a vacuum cleaner and cleaning the hard drive’s bay and connections. Try playing without the hard drive to see if it helps and then try with it

There are a few xbox 360 repair guides that can help you fix you console forever..From what I know you could damage your xbox 360 for good if you do the towel trick, which is main fix for most people on the internet. I did some research for you and I did find a site that does some xbox 360 repair guide reviews. I would recommend that no one try’s those repairs that are on youtube. So I guess visit the source and let me know how it went.
