Questions about Xbox 360 and Red Ring of Death?
Posted on July 30th, 2010 5 comments~♥_♥~ asked:
I just bought my boyfriend an Xbox 360 for Christmas on the day after thanksgiving and now I’m hearing a lot of stuff about this Red Ring of Death. I have no intention of returning it because that is what he really wants but I just need to know. Will an Xbox purchased that recently still have a good chance of getting RROD? I know they haven’t completely fixed the problem but with an Xbox that new should I be pretty safe?>>Click Here to Download the Best Xbox 360 Repair Guide Now<<

Ya it should be fine. Just make sure that when you are playing it that its well ventilated. I keep a small fan blowing air on when I’m playing and I have a Falcon chipset not the Jasper and I haven’t had any problems so far. Plus they have a 3 year extended warranty to cover RROD so either way your covered.

No Matter What Every Single X-Box Has A Chance Of Getting It New, Old, Or Used Doesn’t Matter. My Friend Bought A Brand New X-Box 5 Hours Later Red Ring. When It Happens It Just Happens.

All 360′s have a chance of getting the Red Lights. The newer ones have a lower % chance of breaking down. I have a 360 that was made in ’06, haven’t had any problems with it. As long as you keep it in a ventilated area and keep it off the carpet, it should be fine. Also, make sure he doesn’t move it while a disc is running. The slightest movement can damage a disc pretty badly. The 360 also runs better when put horizontally, the disc is flat and doesn’t move as much. Take a few breaks every 2-3 hrs, and let it rest, don’t let it get too warm. Clean the surface every once in awhile, and make sure dust doesn’t get into the vent holes. I also put a small regular fan next to it to help it keep it cool. If you do all that, it should be fine.

You wont need to return it, it shouldn’t get the red ring of death unless he plays it constantly for about 8 hours a day, even then you could just buy a fan and place it next to the xbox. if you feel worried about the RROD then buy him a few years warranty at your local game retailer, that should keep the repairs free if you do get the RROD it would only be 2-3 weeks of no Xbox 360.

As long as keeping the device in a good air condition, it would be good. Anyway, that RED RING is very unexpectable so, I’d recommend you to get an Xbox repairing guide to fix it yourself if happened:
