Should I get a xbox 360 now of what has happened to me?

The reason why I asked this question is because I really use to love my old xbox 360, but I have had so many problems with it. Let me start off, with the whole story. I got a a 360 back in Feb of 06, only lasted one week, then got e74. Waited till April and got one, lasted until Nov of 06, after playing the first Gears of War, couldn’t read any more discs. Got another one and, plugged it in, and immediately got 3 rings. Swapped that one out and got a new one. That one lasted for six months, until I got a e71 message, luckily I have been using the warranty from gamestop, so I didn’t have to purchase none of the consoles, but when I got this message and swapped it out and got one that was made in August of 2007, and it was my last return because Gamestop stopped issuing warranties for 360′s. Luckily that one lasted until the new Update called, “NXE” I had a good one year and half until three months from the NXE update, I got an E74 error. I was fed and done with that. My cousin let my uses his ps3 for the time being unil Feb, when I got my Income taxes back and decided to buy another 360 because I really did miss playing and chatting with my friends. So I went to Gamestop in Feb, purchase a refurbished 360 for 180, and thought maybe give it a try. The damm thing only lasted for three days until I got a error e79, which I didn’t know it existed, which meant problems with the Ethernet port. So I was disgusted and let down, because why is this always happening to me. I got my money back, and at the time I am done with it. But I know that the Arcade models are made new with the Jasper design, to be less heat prone and deffective prone, but my fear is that this will happen again. I really love live, and I know that mostly all great mutli-platform games play better on the 360, it is just hard for me to decide either or not to purchase one again. I am not trying to start a flame argument, I just need an honest opinion and hopefully if there is any incite on whether or not I am not the only that has gone through this, because the 360 is cool, and I do love my cousins ps3, it is the just the reliability factor that is a question?
