I have had a 3 light red ring of death before on an older first generation XBOX that just basically rendered the XBOX useless and didn’t show anything. This time I think it was 2 instead of 3 lights (it happened so fast) and it actually showed an error message graphic on the screen. Then I turned it off and back on and it worked fine.

Should I be worried, or does that kind of thing happen all the time?

Is this red ring cause by something other than overheating?
