i dont think u can do anything personally but if it is possible to send it to Microsoft then i would but they might not fix the xbox because they r more worried about the xbox 360.

your best bet is to send it to microsoft because once you open the system to fix it by yourself they don’t fix it. But the problem with your xbox probablly is the laser reader is old and warnout or damaged

the same thing happened to me… go to llama.com and it will give you a tutorial on how to fix your xbox, but be careful. thompson drives do that ALL the time… i have an old xbox that does not read disks anymore, and has a thompson drive in it, but i have a newer one that has… some other type of drive that always works. remember that samsung drives work the best!

Hey… its seems like something is wrong with the eye, something could have happen when it was made or when you first used it, who really knows, but the one thing you should know that it is the eye and the CD driver it self….
I had the same problem and i got mine the day it came out in stores. well i couldn’t get it fixed so what i did was i got on ebay and got one for $50, all it needed was a harddrive and it was scratched alot. So what i did is i took the CD driver out of the Ebay one and switched it with mine. It might seem hard but it was really easy to do, only had 2 hook ups that where easy to take off and on… i haven’t had problems with it… Just remember that once you do that you can get it fixed from the company…. “It was cheeper then getting it fixed”…..

That happened to mine, and it was a problem with the drive. Certain drives are more prone to breaking down than others. This link helped me fix mine. Check it out.
